A successful weekend came at a cost for the Aggie men's soccer team after tying Weber State's B-squad 1-1 on Friday, as the Aggies lost two starters to injury. Despite the loss of Brian Hadfield and Dave Firmage, however, USU was able to bounce back Saturday, destroying LDS Business College 7-1.
The Utah State men's soccer team kicked off on the right foot this weekend, winning 2-0 over Westminster on Friday, then drawing 2-2 with Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) on Saturday. In Saturday's contest, the Aggies climbed out of a 0-2 halftime hole.
It was a picture-perfect finish to a challenging WAC Soccer Tournament: a long-range double overtime goal to claim the title. Unfortunately for the Aggies, it was Fresno State that nailed the shot to win 2-1 Sunday in Reno, Nevada.
Armed with an underdog mentality and plenty of confidence, the USU women's soccer team heads to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament as the top-seeded team, and they're hungry for a title.
Make it a perfect seven. Behind a goal by sophomore forward Lauren Hansen, the USU women's soccer team beat Louisiana Tech 1-0 Friday to remain undefeated in Western Athletic Conference play and claim the top seed heading into the WAC Tournament.
