The Utah State club hockey team shut out UNLV 8-0 in their second game in the Beehive Grill Showcase on Friday night at the George S. Eccles Ice Center in North Logan.

Aggie goalie Bryce Scherschel made 30 saves to earn the shutout.

Forward Brian Gibbons recorded a hat trick for the Aggies while his brother Shaun Gibbons scored two goals of his own.

Forward Dee Fontaine added two goals as well while forward Cooper Limb also put the puck in the net.

The Aggies outshot the Rebels by a final count of 48 to 30.

Tempers ran high throughout the game and there were several net-front scrums and multiple penalties called on both teams.

Forward Chase Allington fought a Rebel and forward Chris Videto was ejected from the game for ripping a UNLV player’s helmet off. Videto will be allowed to play Saturday night but Allington will sit out.
