COLUMN: I was gone for two years and this happened?

Just a few laughs

Every life seems to revolve around change – the only constants being death, taxes and Joan Rivers having cheekbones sharp enough to slice various cuts of meat. On a daily basis we see dirt turn to grass, sun setting in the West and numerous anecdotes plastered on Hallmark cards the world over.

REVIEW: ‘Red Dead Redemption’ alive and kicking

Cinema reopens to culture Cache Valley

The Logan Arthouse and Cinema has come a long way from the frigid and poorly-lit theater it was six months ago.     Using a projector from Michigan and hundreds of hours of concentrated brute force, a building with malfunctioning heat ducts, carpeted restrooms, and pink cement was transformed into a cultural paradise.

Eat That

I’m sure I’m not the only person wondering how three summer months just passed in what I could have sworn was three minutes’ time. But, the newspaper you’re reading right now is pretty solid evidence that summer is ending and that fall is on its way.

Volleyball off to best start since 1979

Ags start off season 6-0

The Utah State volleyball team (6-0) remains unbeaten after winning their second tournament of the season at the Arizona State Sheraton Classic over the weekend. The Aggies 6-0 start is their best since the 1979 national runner-up team posted an 11-0 record to start the season.

Aggies fall just short of shocking No 7 Oklahoma in season opener

Heartbreak in Norman

What a way to kick off the 2010 season.   After withstanding an onslaught of 21-first quarter Oklahoma points, Utah State roared back against the Sooners on Saturday night, stunning the 85,151 fans in attendance at Memorial Stadium before ultimately falling just short of the upset in the 31-24 loss to the nation’s seventh-ranked team.

COLUMN: Adam's WAC football power poll: Week 2

The good, the bad and ugly

The Good: USU’s defense, which averaged just under 1.5 sacks per game in 2009, sacked OU quarterback Landry Jones three times on Saturday. OU gave up an average of only 1.15 sacks in 2009.   The Bad: USU struggled to run the ball against OU.

Superstars in the making, not replacements

The 2009 football season didn’t just see a remarkable improvement in Utah State’s offensive production; it saw a full-scale turnaround in fortune that witnessed the fall of numerous school records. Guided by first-year offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin, USU’s offense soared to new heights in 2009, finishing 12th in the nation in total offense.

The 'Low Down'

I spent my summer installing security systems on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii. The place where I lived for three months straddled one of the premiere golf courses on the west part of the island. Personally, I enjoy golf just enough to get through the frustration of nine holes on a Saturday morning.

OUR VIEW: First tuition, now our pocket change

Aggies for Change is the first all-student giving program at Utah State, but what does that mean? The program gives out plastic piggy banks so we, the students, can fill it up with our extra change, then give back our now full plastic piggy bank in an effort to learn “philanthropy”.
